Privacy policy

This privacy policy describes how DoYouKno handles information when you use our app, website and related services. DoYouKno is operated by Uneven Bits ApS.

Information we process

Depending on how you use DoYouKno, we may process:

• Account information such as your username, internal user identifier and your email address for email sign-in and information received when you sign in with Apple, Google or Telegram.
• Game activity such as quiz results, points, streaks, achievements, friends, duels and rewards.
• Purchase and inventory information, including virtual currencies and products. Card details are processed by Stripe for web purchases and by the app store for in-app purchases. We do not store card numbers. We retain payment references, amounts, currency, purchased product, delivery status and membership expiry to deliver purchases and handle support.
• Technical information needed to provide and secure the service, including device and session information.
• Profile photos you upload, image moderation information and reports about quiz content.
• Usage events and error reports for product analytics and troubleshooting. These may include an account identifier, timestamp, browser information, IP address and context sent by the app.
• Push notification tokens if you allow notifications.
• Messages you send to support.

How we use information

We use information to create and operate your account, provide quizzes and duels, save progress, manage virtual purchases and rewards, send notifications you have chosen, prevent abuse, understand how the game is used, improve the game, troubleshoot and respond to support requests.

Sharing and service providers

We do not sell your personal information. Cloudflare provides our website, network protection and image storage. Brevo sends sign-in link emails. Uploaded profile photos may be sent to OpenAI for automated content moderation and reviewed by our administrators. Apple Push Notification service, Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and your browser’s push service deliver notifications when you choose to receive them. These services receive a device or browser token and the notification content. In-game activity is retained for up to 90 days.

Stripe processes web payments. Apple and Google process purchases in their stores and support sign-in; Telegram supports sign-in in the mini-app. These providers also process information under their own privacy policies. Sentry receives limited technical error reports from our backend: error type, code location and software version. We filter user information, request content and error messages out of these Sentry reports.

Your username, approved profile photo, results and social activity may be visible to other players, for example in duels and leaderboards.

Cookies and web analytics

Necessary browser storage supports sign-in, language choices and game functions. Our Consentaur service stores your consent in the consentaur_consent cookie and local browser storage for up to 365 days. Your choice is shared between our website and web game. Consentaur records consent and counts banner loads without analytics cookies.

Only if you accept analytics do we enable Google Analytics and the web game's optional usage events. Google Analytics uses _ga cookies for up to 365 days to understand visits and the journey into the game. We send language, page type and selected actions; we do not send account identifiers, email, answers or private game links to Google Analytics. Advertising features are disabled.

You can reject analytics or change your choice through Cookie settings in the website footer or web game settings. Withdrawal stops future analytics and removes our Google Analytics cookies, but does not automatically delete information already collected.

Our Harald service sends internal operational notifications through Telegram about new permanent accounts and payments. Messages may contain the username and sign-in method on account creation, or a shortened player reference, product, amount, currency and payment status. They do not contain card details or sign-in links.

Retention and security

We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the service, meet legal obligations and resolve disputes. We use appropriate technical and organisational security measures, but no internet-based service can guarantee complete security.

Account deletion removes your active profile, associated game history, social connections, push tokens, account-linked analytics events, content reports and current and pending profile photos. Opponents' duel history retains results and internal player identifiers, without a link to your deleted profile. Payment and membership references are retained for reconciliation, refund handling and preventing repeated delivery of the same purchase. Apple authorization credentials are held encrypted until revocation completes.

Backups and temporary caches may contain earlier information after account deletion. Our database backup keeps the latest 30 archives; this is not a guarantee of deletion after 30 days. Contact us with questions about remaining information and its deletion.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of or deletion of your information and, where applicable, object to or restrict processing. You can delete your account in the app settings or follow the instructions on Delete account.

Children

DoYouKno is not directed at children below the applicable age of digital consent without consent from a parent or guardian. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information without valid consent.
